Jealousy bleeds | open for anyone
Merenwen looked at herself in the mirror, after reading the anonymous love note that she had received but a year ago. Why can’t my admirers just tell me face to face, like Arwen’s do? Am I truly that intimidating? She once again plastered on a fake smile as she heard a knock on the door
Visiting Anfalas | open to elfofanfalas
Merenwen was not lost, although on her way many had asked her if she was. Yes, she was an heiress of Rivendell. No, she did not need directions back to her home. Yes, she was going to Anfalas, No she did not need directions! Letting out a frustrated sigh, the princess took a seat on a rock, on the outskirts of the quiet region, and simply sat there in peace to rest for a while, for her journey had been exerting.
“Greetings, my lord” She said, smiling as she looked up to see a fellow elf standing not far away from her.
It took a moment for Daenir to realize she was speaking to him, though who else would she be? He hadn’t been called my lord by someone in a long time so it threw him.
“My, apologies I was not expecting to see one of our kind out here. I am Daenir, is there something I can do for you my lady?”
Merenwen could not help but to keep smiling. It was a very pretty place, much unlike the city of Rivendell which she was so familliar with.
“There is naught that I should ask of you, m’lord” She stood up to greet him, feeling awkward in her sitting position. “I am Merenwen, daughter of Lord Elrond and second heir of Rivendell”
“What brings you out here?” Now that was unexpected. He thought that someone of her stature would at least have guards with her, or perhaps her father traveling with her. Not that he didn’t think she couldn’t handle herself it was just…surprising.
"Well, naught really. I just love coming to this place, I try to visit Anfalas every 100 years.. it has been a tradition for me ever since my mother-" Merenwen shook her head and tried to recover her smile. "Do you live here?"
He’s one of them rangers. Dangerous folk they are — wandering the wilds. What his right name is I’ve never heard, but around here, he’s known as Strider.
Blood pours from an open wound | open
Merenwen looked around, making sure the coast was clear. Though it was strongly forbidden for her to leave the gates of Rivendell, the princess was determined to atleast get a glimpse at the outside world with her own eyes, not just through others. Sneakily, she ran through the open gates, praying that nobody would see her. But when she left the secure gates of Rivendell, Merenwen wanted more. So now in a more calm fashion, she walked around the outskirts of Rivendell..
Many hours, and she was wandering around a flat, grassy land, lost. “Auto miquela orcu Merenwen!” (go kiss an orc, Merenwen!) She thought aloud, in anger at her own stupidity. Just then, she heard the faint sound of footsteps. “Who goes by!”
Othili looked around, and kept walking. How was it that she could get lost so quickly, and her father did not come back for her? Did he not notice? “Fer durin’s sake, Othili stap wallowing an’ look around fer yer da’ an his company” the dwarven princess thought to herself. Soon after, Othili heard footsteps. Standing still, she waited for her father to come out. But he did not.
“‘tis I, Othili of Erebor! Daughter of Thorin Oakenshield, and Princess under the mountain. Reveal yourself or pay the consequences!”
Merenwen was just about to reveal herself but when she heard the threat, she stayed hidden. “I am Merenwen, of Rivendel! Daughter of Lord Elrond and Princess of Rivendell! Pray tell me what makes you think your threats have any meaning to me!”
Othili creeped up towards the stranger. She was surprised when her face was revealed. No.. she was more than just surprised. “Merenwen” The dwarfess breathed out. “You’re alive” Shock coursed through her “I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD?!”
Merenwen was shocked to find the young dwarfess shouting in her ear. “Me? Dead? I should think not! But whom would tell you such a lie?” She questioned. “And how exactly was it that I ‘died’” The princess was quite at loss as to why someone would want for Othili to think she was dead.
Othili did not expect Merenwen to be so unaware. “Fili said he saw you.. In the battle of the five armies! Said that dratted white orc slayed ye!” Puzzled, she then asked “Why did ye no’ visit sooner?”
“Fili said this to you? Well he must have lied, mustn’t he have? Which I do not understand, but perhaps..”
“Well Othili, friend, please do think of my responsibilities. Though my sister may rule over most of Middle-Earth with Aragon, there must be someone who will serve soley for the people of Rivendell- and that someone is me”
“Madame” Othili said in a curt tone. “I also have plenty of responsibilities, and you know it. Yet I seem to always make time for my friends and family.”
“Anyway, let us drop the subject, M’renwen. ‘Tis silly tae squabble over such trivial things”
Merenwen was just about to shout back at Othili, but before she did she was interrupted by Othili.
"Look at you" She laughed "Younger, yet always acting as the better person"
